6xVPN Setup Guide
Account, plan, subscription, client, connection check. Follow the steps in order, or jump ahead if you already have an account or subscription.
Menu names vary by clientDepending on your operating system and client, the relevant menu may be called “Subscription,” “Configuration,” or “Profiles.” This guide describes what to do rather than requiring exact button names. Follow the instructions in your dashboard for installation and import; screenshots from other clients may not match your setup.
Create an account and sign in to your dashboard
Start by opening the 6xVPN account creation page. No email address is required; create your account with a username and password. Follow the prompts, check that your username is correct before submitting, and choose a password you do not use on other websites. Your login details are needed to access your account, view orders, and get your subscription, so store them in a trusted password manager.
Once your account is created, open your dashboard. If you land on the sign-in page, use the username and password you just saved. Note the difference between these two areas: this guide is public, while the dashboard is where you manage plans, download clients, and get your personal subscription. When you switch devices, return to the same account; you do not need to create a separate one for each platform.
Once you’re in the dashboard, make sure you’re viewing your own account. If your browser has saved a different account’s sign-in, verify which one is active before placing an order so the plan isn’t added to the wrong account. Don’t share your password with someone else to place an order for you. If you can’t sign in, check your keyboard layout, capitalization, and any accidental spaces, then see the Help Center’s account and subscription guide.
Choose a plan and review your order
Once your account is ready, open the Plans section in your dashboard. Before choosing, consider how you expect to use the service: a monthly subscription may suit regular use with a monthly data allowance, while a data package may be a better fit if your usage is occasional and you want to save the data for later. Don’t decide on price alone; check the billing method and how the data allowance resets or is used.
Monthly subscriptions are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Monthly data resets on your renewal date, not at the start of each calendar month. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days. Data packages are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB; they don’t expire and remain available until used. For a full comparison, see the plan and pricing page before choosing in your dashboard.
Before paying, check the plan, total due, and billing method shown in your order. Follow the checkout instructions to complete payment. Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT are supported; follow the instructions shown for your chosen method. After paying, return to your dashboard to check the order status. Don’t assume the plan is active just because you closed the payment page, and don’t create the same order again while its status is still updating.
Confirm that your plan is active before getting your subscription. If the payment result doesn’t match the status in your dashboard, keep your order details and explain the issue through the dashboard’s ticket system. Don’t post payment receipts or account screenshots in public forums. 6xVPN offers a 60-day money-back guarantee; see the Terms of Service for details. This page covers getting connected for the first time; you can look up renewals, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance in the complete guide later.
Get your subscription link
Once your plan is active, open the account overview in your dashboard and find the subscription section. Your subscription link lets a client retrieve the configurations and servers available to your account; it isn’t a regular webpage to open repeatedly in a browser. Use the client import option in your dashboard if available. If you need to import manually, copy the subscription link.
After copying the link, leave your dashboard open and launch the client for your platform. For manual import, paste the complete link. Don’t select only part of it or add quotation marks, extra text, or line breaks. If the client offers separate options for importing from a link or a file, paste the subscription address into the link field rather than opening it as a local file.
Your subscription link is an account credentialDon’t share your personal link in group chats, screenshots, or public code repositories. The example below shows the format only; it is not a working subscription. Copy the link from your own dashboard when setting up your client.
https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN
If the import shows no servers, first check your plan status in the dashboard. Then make sure you copied the subscription address, not the address of the dashboard page in your browser. Never submit your personal link to an unfamiliar online conversion site. For help with updating, expired, or exposed links, see the Help Center. To get started, just import the link and confirm that the server list appears.
Clients and subscription import
Read only the section for the platform you use. Get clients from the Downloads section of your dashboard; you don’t need to find an installer on this page. You can download clients for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux after signing in, without having purchased a plan. To retrieve and use a subscription, check its status in your account. iOS works differently; see the instructions below.
Windows: Import from Configuration Management
Use the Windows desktop client provided in your dashboard. After installing and launching it, look for a “Subscription” or “Configuration Management” section. If your dashboard offers an import button for this client, click it and confirm that the installed app opens. If your browser doesn’t launch the app, copy the link and import it manually; there’s no need to reinstall the client.
To import manually, add a remote subscription in Configuration Management, paste the full address, and save it as prompted. Then update or download the configuration. When the server list appears, set this configuration as the active one. Importing is only the first step; you’ll still need to connect the client or enable the system proxy. If another proxy tool is already running on your computer, disconnect it first to avoid conflicting settings.
macOS: Check system permissions after importing
Use the macOS desktop client provided in your dashboard and choose the installer that matches your device, as described in the Downloads section. The first time you launch it, watch for system prompts about the app and network permissions. Confirm that the prompt is for the client you just installed, then allow the permissions it needs. Don’t disable your system’s overall security settings just to dismiss a single prompt.
In the client’s subscription or configuration settings, add the link, paste the address, and update it. Then enable the imported configuration. Some clients put these options under the menu bar icon, and closing the main window may not quit the app. After importing, check the menu bar or the client’s status page to confirm the configuration is selected before connecting. For more detailed installation, permissions, and day-to-day usage instructions, see the complete guide.
Android: Save your subscription and allow the connection
Use the Android client provided in your dashboard. Before installing, make sure you downloaded it from your account on this site. Open the app and go to configuration or subscription management, then choose the option to add a subscription by link. Give the configuration a recognizable name if you like, paste the address, and save it. Update the subscription and wait for the server list to load.
When you select this configuration and start connecting, Android may ask you to confirm the VPN connection. Check the app name and allow the request, then return to the client to check its status. If the connection drops when you switch to another app, first check whether your system is restricting background activity for the client, then consult the Help Center. Avoid changing battery, network, and proxy settings all at once; it makes it harder to tell which change helped.
iOS: Get the client and import your subscription from the dashboard
Get the iOS client using the App Store link in your dashboard. This link is available to users with an active, unexpired plan. If the dashboard says you need an active plan, check your plan status in the Plans section or account overview. This page doesn’t provide an alternative download link, and you don’t need to give anyone else your account credentials to install the client for you.
Install the iOS network client specified in your dashboard, then return to the subscription section and use the matching import option. To import manually, add a link in the app’s subscription or configuration settings, then paste, save, and update it. Starting a connection may prompt you to allow the app to add a VPN configuration; follow the system prompt to confirm. Allowing the configuration doesn’t verify that the setup works—you still need to choose a server and test access to your target service.
Linux users can also get a client from the dashboard and follow its subscription or configuration instructions to import the link. On any platform, the checks for this stage are the same: the subscription is saved, the update completes without errors, the server list is visible, and the configuration is selected. 6xVPN supports unlimited devices online at the same time, but each device still needs its own client installation and import. Don’t use a local configuration path from one device as the subscription address on another.
Connect and verify your setup
Choose the region you want from the server list, then connect. For your first connection, keep the client’s recommended default mode and avoid changing rules, routing, or advanced network options at the same time. If the desktop client has separate controls for “Connect” and “System Proxy,” check the dashboard instructions and make sure the required options are enabled. A client that says it’s running doesn’t necessarily mean your browser traffic is going through it.
After connecting, open a website or app you normally need to use. First check that it loads fully, then make sure your usual tasks work as expected—for example, saving a document, staying connected to a meeting, or loading content continuously. A “Connected” status in the client or a page title appearing in your browser isn’t enough to confirm that your whole use case is working.
If regular websites load but your target service still shows an error, first determine whether it’s a connection issue or a requirement related to the service’s own account, region, or permissions. Changing servers doesn’t make you eligible for a third-party service or guarantee access to region-specific content. To compare servers, use the same destination under similar conditions and change only the server each time.
If none of your destinations load, check these items in order: is your account subscription active, did the configuration update succeed, is the current configuration enabled, does your system allow the network connection, and is another proxy tool still running? After disconnecting the client, also check whether your local network is working. If the underlying connection is down, restore it before trying to import the subscription again.
After your first successful test, note which configuration and server worked. If the server list changes later, update your existing subscription instead of deleting and recreating it each time. When you stop using the service, disconnect normally in the client and make sure its system proxy is turned off. If you can’t pinpoint a problem, visit the Help Center or contact support through a dashboard ticket. Include your system, client, error message, and the steps that led to the issue. Hide your personal subscription link before submitting.
That’s it for your first-time setupOnce you can update your subscription, choose a server, and use your target app successfully, you’re ready for everyday use. The complete guide covers renewals, maintenance, advanced routing, and more detailed troubleshooting. You don’t need to configure everything during your first connection.
